Collaborative projects: ARESS - The asynchronous rotating energy system stabilizer
Subprojects: Determination of a service life model for the isolation system of the ARESS rotating asynchronous phase shifter under cyclic multifactorial loads.
Funding period: 2022 - 2024
The goal of the subproject at TU Dortmund University is to develop an understanding of the aging behavior of the insulation system in the asynchronous phase shifter in order to be able to evaluate the reliability of the currently advised specification and the impact of future technical modifications to the generator design. This will be accomplished using a life model to be developed for the high voltage insulation system in the rotor winding of the machine. The service life model will be based on experimentally determined results of accelerated aging tests of the insulation system within the scope of the project. During the series of tests, the insulation system is subjected to electrical, thermal and mechanical stress.
