Development and evaluation of innovative operational resources for trans-European HVDC networks

Infrastructural preparatory measures for an HVDC test center within the framework of E2HGÜ

Funding period E²HGÜ: 2014 - 2019

Funding period InfraHGÜ: 2014 - 2016

The development and evaluation of innovative equipment for the use in trans-European HVDC networks is at the forefront of these projects. For this purpose, within the BMWi project E²HGÜ, in cooperation with various universities and industrial project partners in different subject areas, different operating equipment of the energy supply (such as cables, bushings, transformers) are examined, developed, modelled, evaluated, and qualified. Furthermore, in association with the InfraHGÜ project, the basic test engineering prerequisites are created in the form of a test environment for DC voltage tests at the TU Dortmund University. Consortium leader of the joint project E²HGÜ is the TU Dortmund University. The consortium partners include the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences, Amprion GmbH, HSP Hochspannungsgeräte GmbH, Siemens AG, and Südkabel GmbH.
