Extension of the existing test infrastructure at the TU Dortmund University to simulate operationally relevant pulse and mixed voltage loads in HVDC networks

Funding period: 2019 - 2021

In addition to a high DC voltage, HVDC technology equipment is loaded with various superimposed voltage forms that are currently not part of standardized test procedures. The investigation of such operationally relevant pulse and mixed voltage loads in HVDC transmission networks requires the expansion of the existing test infrastructure at the TU Dortmund University. Therefore, a suitable pulse generation unit as well as suitable measuring and filter technology for the generation and recording of associated pulse and mixed stresses will be added. The project will be accompanied simulatively and experimentally.
